BMC Recommends Oliver!
With so many enjoyable British Musicals to choose from BMC would like to recommend the classic 'Oliver'. There are many versions available on the market, but the 1968 version with Mark Lester playing the innocent Oliver who runs away from an orphanage to London and becomes involved with a likable bunch of pickpockets, the main pickpocketing character named the Artful Dodger is highly entertaining, with great songs such as 'You Have to Pick a Pocket or Two and Consider Yourself' will have you singing along and toe tapping. This movie has great villians as well to provide the good versus bad storyline, mainly the character of Bill Sykes played ingeniously by one of Britains finest actors Oliver Reed. This version faithfully keeps to the tone of the Charles Dickens classic and if you have never seen it, you won't be disapointed, a great all round movie for the family.
